Preventing cannabis-related harms among youth

The Youth & Cannabis Working Group brings together school boards, police, youth mental health & addiction counselors, and public health nurses. The aim is to align all partners around evidence-based best practices for preventing or reducing the harms associated with cannabis use.

The working group supported the delivery of two key initiatives:

  1. Weed Out the Risk: Classroom based sessions engaging students through interactive discussions, games, activities and videos about misconceptions and risks of using cannabis and driving.
  2. Weed Out the Myths: Community-based forums to help parents and teens understand what’s fact and fiction about cannabis.
